I dreamed a lot about going to study abroad. One I looked at Partners universities of Masaryk University and picked my priorities. My first priority came real and I got this big possibility to spend one semester in Kansas City, Missouri, the United States. I looked for a place to stay, however, the dorms were terribly expensive. I decided that I would love to live in different place and I started to ask at Christian communities. My Czech friend connected me with one woman in Kansas City, who helped me to find this American family where I can stay.
When I arrived to America, this family welcome me with open arms and they were so kind and generous. They showed me their lovely house and my bedroom which look like some place in castle. It is like living in dream surrounded by loving people.
WHAT ARE THE MAIN DIFFERENCES BETWEEN CZECHIA AND AMERICA
1. Almost everyone has a car here, no good public transport
2. Everything is bigger 😀 (Cars, houses, shops,..)
3. There are so many international people and also different races
4. People are kind, welcoming
5. The majority of people are Christian
6. Criminality, almost every family has some guns
7. People like to watch news like Foke News which are more informal than Europian news, they use a lot of jokes and sarcasm
8. Time difference (7 hours less than in the Czech Republic)
9. Weather
10. Squarrels are everywhere!
